As we embarked on this trip we started out in the Philadelphia airport only hours away from making it to Houston where we would then have a lay over for a few hours. Once we got on the plane in Houston- that is when we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. 2 hours until we got to one of the most beautiful places on earth(or at least to one of the most beautiful places I have been). After we landed in the Belize City Airport we then had to hop on a plane that only held 12 people- ummmm WHAT? I didn't realize that it was such a small plane. xanax please! The 15 minute flight seemed like a lifetime- my life in the hands of a pilot that I have never met and never got credentials on...trusting that he would get us there in one piece. Well.. obviously I am still alive and we did get to San Pedro airport where we would then take a taxi cab to the dock to take a boat to the island we were staying on. Planes, trains and automobiles anyone?
As we pulled up to the resort that we were staying in- it all sunk in. We were actually here! We were actually on vacation... finally. Since we were here to celebrate a close friend of mine getting married, there were people at the resort we actually knew. As one of my closest friends ran down the dock to welcome Jory and I, I felt a rush of love and excitement. A warm welcome thousand of miles away from home came at the right time.
I could go on and on about the first day there- but I will be blogging about every day there I don't want to give too much! After settling in, everything came rushing to me- I then realized that this beautiful and peaceful place was going to teach me a lesson. The lesson being- life is not always about the hustle and bustle- making tons of money- driving nice cars... it is about quality of life. Life needs to be enjoyed... Life needs to be about loving... life needs to be about appreciating the people in your life... if you can't see life for what it is.. you will be very disappointed.... Enjoy it while you have it.
