Making a statement...

Why is everyone so scared of making a statement? Have you ever wondered why everyone feels the need to be accepted by everyone they meet. I think the best thing about people are the things that make them tick. The things that make them set apart from others. The uniqueness of a person makes me want to get to know them more.

Above is a picture of a "pair" of many unique and silly socks that I own. This is MY statement piece. This is what makes ME different than other people. Some other people might have sock fetishes, but the reason that I do this... is merely for MYSELF. I wear silly socks because... when I do, my mood completely changes to the fun loving person I actually am (especially on an off day). I woke up this morning on the wrong side of the bed. I mean.... I was in a FOUL mood and even though things should have been set to have a good day, I STILL agreed with the bad mood. Even though I don't wear socks everyday, it seems that when I do... they make me the person that I normally am. So I went home after grabbing some lunch and I changed into more comfortable clothes to go back to work in (thinking this might be the trick). But... before I left, I went into my sock drawer and picked out the socks you see above and as I was putting them on I got an instant rush of joy and I chuckled to myself. I was laughing because it's the little things that make me happy and set me apart from the rest of you all. I love these socks. And when I wear them, I love myself.
Now, my challenge to you is figuring out what makes you happy. Maybe its not your socks or even a pair of shoes. It could be anything from listening to your favorite song to wearing your favorite hat, but whatever it is- DO IT. Find your statement piece... Make your statement. BE YOURSELF!!! Because once you do, you will start loving yourself. Loving yourself is the first step to letting others love you just as much.

Enjoy.
Peace Out!

That's my happy song. No matter what is going on in my world, I can listen to this song and get happy! As for a statement piece, I have a whole closet full of them! I love to be different, just my own version of different! Love you Go Realty Girl, love the blog, love the socks! :)
